Pay raise calculator
A salary increase calculator that works in both directions: enter a percentage to see your new salary, or enter a new salary (a counter-offer, a market rate) to see what raise it represents. Everything stays in your browser.
Quick reference: what common raises mean for you

How to actually get the raise
- Bring market data, not feelings. "The market pays X for my role" beats "I work hard". Our salary calculator shows what live Spain ads pay by sector and level — that's your anchor.
- Ask on the back of results — after a shipped project, a strong review, new responsibilities. Timing does half the work.
- Name a number, slightly above your target. The percentage field above tells you exactly what your ask means per month, so you can say it without flinching.
- Raises are gross. Progressive tax means your net rises a bit less than the headline percentage — plan around take-home, negotiate in gross.
- If the answer is a permanent no, the market is the second opinion: the live English-friendly jobs — and if it comes to it, the resignation letter generator has Spain's notice rules built in.
Common questions
What is the average pay raise?
There is no universal number, and any site that gives you one without a source is guessing. The honest frame: annual review adjustments tend to track inflation (check the current figure at your national statistics office), while promotion or role-change raises are typically much larger. The stronger benchmark is the market rate for your role — which is what our salary calculator shows from live job ads.
How do I calculate a salary increase percentage?
New salary minus current salary, divided by current salary, times 100. This calculator does it both ways: type a percentage to see the new salary, or type the new salary (an offer, for example) to see what percentage it represents.
Will my net pay rise by the same percentage?
Usually not. Raises are agreed on gross salary, and with progressive income tax a gross increase often lands as a somewhat smaller net increase — part of the raise falls in a higher bracket. For what typical roles pay gross in Spain, see our salary calculator; for your exact net, a payroll simulator or your gestor is the right tool.
What is a real raise vs a nominal raise?
A nominal raise is the number on paper; the real raise is what is left after inflation. A 4% raise during 5% inflation is a pay cut in purchasing power. The optional inflation field above does this math — look up the current rate yourself (we deliberately don't hardcode one, because it changes monthly).
What if the answer is no?
Then you have data instead of a feeling: you know your number, the market rate, and the gap. Some people close that gap at the next review; some close it with a new employer. The live jobs and the resignation letter generator are both one tab away — in that order.
