Before you hand it in
- Check your contract's notice clause first — it overrides any default. Short notice can be deducted from your final settlement (finiquito).
- Two printed copies: one for HR, one they stamp/sign and date for you. That stamped copy is your proof the notice clock started.
- The letters are editable — click into either one to tweak wording before printing. Your inputs autosave in this browser.
- Resigning because you found something better through us? Nice. If not yet: the live jobs and what roles pay are one tab away.
Common questions
How much notice do I have to give in Spain?
There is no single statutory number for resignations in Spain: the notice period comes from your contract or the applicable convenio colectivo, and 15 natural days is the most common default. Check your contract first; leaving with less notice than agreed can let the employer deduct those days from your final settlement (finiquito).
Can I resign by email?
A dated, signed letter delivered on paper (ideally with a stamped copy for you, or via burofax/registered mail if relations are tense) is the safe route in Spain — it fixes the date the notice period starts counting. Email works at many international companies, but ask HR to confirm receipt in writing either way.
Do I have to give a reason for resigning?
No. A resignation letter only needs your decision, your position, the notice you are giving and your last working day. Keeping it short and neutral is standard practice and protects references.
Is this generator really free?
Yes — the letter is assembled in your browser and printed to PDF from here. Nothing is uploaded, no signup, no watermark. Your inputs save locally in this browser only.
